In painting with watercolours the inner qualities of a colour are explored. What feelings does this colour generate? What soul qualities are linked to the three primary colours: blue, yellow and red? The aim of these painting lessons is not to copy external objects or make illustrations but to experience and ‘listen’ to the inner language of colours. Themes are derived from main lesson content. In Class 1 children become acquainted with the ‘personalities’ of the primary colours and explore the nuance of how they meet and interact.
