Welcome from the TLAS Team
Dear TLAS Community,
Welcome back and Happy New Year! From all of us here at The London Acorn School, may we express our thanks for your generous Christmas gifts and extend our best wishes for you and your families in 2023.
The New Year is a great time for new beginnings. Although we must sadly wave farewell to 2022, and at the same time our wonderful Headteacher, Deborah Speakman, who has relocated back to Wales, we are excited about what 2023 may hold.
One new beginning is our new-look Nutshell: same content, different day, different place. Each Monday, you will find the latest news from The London Acorn School here on our website. We seek to offer you up-to-date information alongside an insight into (and outside of) the classroom.
Another new beginning is our new starters this term. Please warmly welcome the Khan family (Zakariya in Oak Class, Zaynab in Hazel and Basmah in Willow), the Skriczka family (Maximillian in Willow, older brother to Alexander in Kinde), and the Abella-Shephard family (Ares in Kindergarten). I know you will make them feel at home in our community as they start their learning journey with us here at The London Acorn School.
We would also like to welcome Alison Downs to our staffing team, who will be assisting in Hazel Class with her wealth of HLTA experience.
In this interim period, we further welcome Zoe Wiles to the position of Acting Head of Teaching and Learning, Stacey Brien to the position of Acting Head of Pastoral Services, and Luana Milroy to the position of Deputy Safeguarding Lead. Please contact the relevant person if you have any queries.
As we all adjust to the rhythm of the school routine again after the long holidays (particularly those early morning school runs), we ask parents to try to ensure their children arrive on time with appropriate clothing and footwear, and sufficient food for a busy day of learning.
Finally, at The London Acorn School we continue to offer stimulating learning experiences through our thematic-based curriculum, a range of extra-curriculum activities, and upcoming school trips to enhance students’ learning.
Let’s get going!
Thank you all in anticipation of your support for the forthcoming term.
Best wishes,
The TLAS Team
Thank you from Debbie
Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for the lovely gifts.
The beautiful Welsh woven blanket is just perfect and I will always treasure the leather bound notebook with your warm words, lovely illustrations and photos. All so very thoughtful.
You can see from the photo that our mad Springer, Zuma, also finds the blanket rather snuggly!
